Managers of Buildings with seven storeys or more must submit a Safety Case Report to The Building Safety Regulator. The Principal Accountable Person will be responsible for ensuring the Safety Case Report is completed and remains up-to-date.

I am a Senior Building Consultant at Firntec. I have worked in the Building Safety Industry for the entirety of my career and work with building managers daily, helping them with their building safety concerns. From Fire Risk Assessments to measured building surveys, I have researched what will be required in a Building Safety Case under the Building Safety Act and have experience helping building owners move towards a Golden Thread approach to their asset information.
Chris has been a Parliamentary advisor for over two decades and has written a number of ‘plain guides’ to legislation. His latest publication is the “Plain Guide to the Building Safety Act 2022. He advised MPs and Peers as the Building Safety Bill was scrutinized in Parliament.
Chris will be talking about the implications of the Building Safety Act and how it affects Building Safety Cases for the fire safety industry. He has a special interest in disability issues and is working with 3ASolutions.tech on introducing PEEPs for every disabled resident.
Ruben Wood provides specialist structural design services to the construction and design related industries through his practice RW Structures. Ruben is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Structural Engineers and has a thorough range of experience on projects both in the UK and globally, centered on the construction industry but also in public art installations and bespoke structures. His extensive experience in a wide range of projects afford him the contacts to bring together the right team for a job. Ruben has worked on a range of projects where he has developed the ability to perform conceptual and detailed designs, analysis of complex structures and element design. He has extensive experience in structural design and construction methods and has successfully completed projects with values in excess of £10m.
